Composting 101, Saturday, October 5th from 9am to 11am
Composting is the controlled decomposition of organic material such as leaves, grass, fruit and vegetable remains. Essentially it is nature's way of recycling! Composting not only diverts waste from landfills, but also returns valuable nutrients from food and yard waste back into the soil. In this workshop you will learn methods for composting and vermicomposting (with worms) and the benefits it can provide your garden and community.
Compost bins will be sold at the end of the workshop so don't forget to bring cash or a check.
RSVP by Tuesday, October 1st
Good for children 10 years and older
The River Park's Education program events are FREE, but donations are always accepted.
If you or your business would like to sponsor one of these events, please contact Cindy Collins for more information.
