Outreach Ambassadors

The River Park participates in local and county wide events such as the Lakeside Auto Speedway, EarthFair, and National Trails Day. Educate the public about the River Park and help us gain new supporters and volunteers.

Up-coming Outreach Event Dates:

February 9 Trail Preview Opening, Lakeside

April 20 EarthFair 2008, Balboa Park

April 26 Lakeside's Rodeo Days Parade, Lakeside

May 17 San Diego River Days 5K, Lakeside

June 7 National Trails Day, San Diego

Responsibilities:

1. Staff informational booths and tables at various events in San Diego County.

2. Educate people on the River Park’s mission, goals, and progress to date.

3. Provide the appropriate brochures, flyer, maps or hand out as backup for their questions

Requirements:

1. Have a commitment to the mission and goals of the River Park.

2. Enjoy talking to people in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

3. Able to follow instructions

4. Able to keep information gathered confidential

5. Capable of working independently with little of no supervision while giving presentations to community groups or at community fairs/events.

6. Possess good decision making skills and the ability to communicate with River Park Staff as needed

Training:

1. Participate in an orientation and River Park tour.

2. Attend schedule meetings and in-service updates
