Our Staff

Executive Director- Robin Rierdan |
Robin
has a M.C.P. in Urban Planning from the Georgia Institute
of Technology with specializations in economic development
and real estate, and a B.A. from the University of California,
San Diego (Revelle College), in Anthropology and Teaching.
She is the past director of the State of Nevada's Rural
Economic Development Program. She has been active in land
preservation projects and issues in Santee and East County
for the past six years. Robin is also a founding employee;
she wrote several multi-million grants for property acquisition
and restoration. |

Construction Manager- Lynne Baker |
Lynne
has a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San
Diego and a B.S, in Civil Engineering Technology from Okalahoma
State. Ms. Baker has over 20 years of experience in construction
management and is skilled in cost estimating, budgeting,
contract management, as well as having worked closely with
various resource agencies in several capacities. She is
responsible for managing the river park’s main projects:
the river restoration, trail and the UCSD TIES touch-screen
kiosk projects. |

Membership & Volunteer Manager- Cindy Collins |
Cindy
joined the Lakeside Conservancy in the Spring of 2004 and
has over fifteen years of combined experience as a non-profit
administrator. She has a B.A. from San Diego State University
in Fine Art. Cindy’s goals are to increase membership
enrollment and develop and maintain volunteer programs.

Events Coordinator- Michele Sawaya |
Michele
has a BA in Recreation from SDSU. Prior to working for the Conservancy
she helped produce the Friendship Festival for the City of El
Cajon. Using her keen organizational and editing skills, she
is an asset to the organization’s government grant-writing
team. She also joined the Lakeside Conservancy in the spring
of 2004. |

Project Accountant- Kari Johnston |
Kari
has over twelve years experience in accounting and construction
so her experience is greatly needed as the reconstruction phase
of the River begins. She is a San Diego native and apart from
the four years she spent attending college, she has lived in
the East County all her life. She has lived in Lakeside now
for over three years. She is married to a Chief in the US Navy
and she has two daughters ages 11 and 6. |
Consultant-
Gary Ruyle
Gary
Ruyle has 25 years experience as a landscape architect specializing
in habitat restoration. Habitats restored include riparian, coastal
sage, chaparral, native grasslands, and vernal pools. He has a Master’s
in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona and a BA in Park
Administration. Mr. Ruyle is experienced with development of exotic
plant mapping and removal programs.
