Holiday Giving
Park Design Workshop: HAVE YOUR SAY!!
We need your ideas, your input!! Why? We are designing a new park for Lakeside
and the Regional San Diego River Park. We are holding 5 design workshop to allow
you to give your thoughts and ideas. Our park will be better for you, for kids, for
seniors, for everyone, when everyone has a say. Please attend.
Please note: Lakeside's River Park Conservancy is a non-profit. We receive no government assistance for maintenance etc. This park will require a fee from users. We do not as yet know what that fee will be. Your input on this matter would be appreciated.
Conservation + Education
Along the San Diego River, undeveloped land is rare. In urban San Diego, most of the land near the river has been sand mined and reclaimed for commercial use, leaving Lakeside with the best and most undisturbed riparian habitat. Our acquisition target areas include all river land from the base of the El Capitan Dam to the border with the City of Santee. We are focused on acquiring land east of Highway 67 where it crosses the San Diego River, to and through the El Monte Valley.
Our mission is to preserve and restore these areas, while integrating recreational, educational and cultural opportunities. You'll find a list of all of our education opportunities here.
